Last weekend, I turned on the television and became inspired by a 90-year old woman who walked six miles on Valentine's Day to get her COVID-19 vaccine because this would soon allow her to hug her loved ones, including her great grandchildren. Walking six miles was inspiring enough, but even more so was ... the fact that she did it after a snowstorm dropped about a foot of snow in her area. Fortunately though, a walking path was partially clear to help her on her way. She said getting there was the easiest part because the way back was all up hill. Her daughter said she is in exceptionally good health due to genes, healthy eating, and getting daily exercise such as a daily three-mile walk. She also said that her mother is very comfortable with technologies and this helped her to secure the appointment. She got comfortable with the computer by taking classes online and in-person prior to the pandemic. What an inspiration to us all!
Hauck, G. (2021). What's her secret? 6 miles in the snow didn't stop 90-year-old woman from getting a COVID-19 vaccine. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2021/02/18/covid-vaccine-secret-behind-seattle-woman-walked-snow/6798557002/ @LauraBHaw@Celebrativity
