Due to the mild weather this winter and my husband's gentle coaxing (that I am so grateful for), I've been able to get more exercise than typical winters. Because of this, I feel like I have a small head start this year towards becoming more physically fit. The video below mentions that physical pain, lack of money, and lack of time are the most frequent reasons for not exercising. I think often of caregivers and how all three of those reasons may apply.
However, it is important to remember that taking care of your body and mind gives benefit not only for you, but for all those that you love, and for society in general. The first three minutes of this video will inspire you to get up and go! The latter portion of the video mentions the potential monetary benefit of health care savings and the importance of nutrition for older adults. The end of the video shows older adults benefiting from socialization while playing one of my family's favorite winter games.
Every day is a great day to eat nutritious meals and keep the mind and body active!
