Celebrating Earth Day 2025

4/22/2025

Happy Earth Day! A day to remind us of how important it is to take care of our planet.

Take time to celebrate the day by spending time in nature, recycling, or planting. Being in natural environments has been shown to reduce stress, improve attention, and foster emotional well-being.
The sights, sounds, and restorative qualities of nature can have a calming effect on the mind (Bratman et al., 2019). By working together, we can make a world of difference! Every little action can count. Here’s a video to inspire you to take action and provide a little history about how earth day began.
Also for inspiration, here are a few quotes on how small steps can make a big difference:
  • “Little by little, a little becomes a lot.” - Tanzanian Proverb
  • “Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together.” - Vincent Van Gogh
  • “Do your little bit of good where you are; it's those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.” - Desmond Tutu
  • “Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could do only a little.” - Edmund Burke
  • “It’s the little details that are vital. Little things make big things happen.” -  John Wooden
  • “Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.” - Robert Collier
