For many people, a visit to the beach brings back memories of family vacations, peaceful walks along the shore, collecting seashells, building sandcastles, watching waves roll in, or simply relaxing in the sunshine. Even those who have never visited the ocean often dream of its beauty and tranquility.
The colors, sounds, and peaceful atmosphere of the coast have inspired artists, photographers, writers, and musicians for generations. Gentle waves, sandy beaches, colorful seashells, dramatic sunsets, and fascinating marine life offer endless opportunities for creativity and reflection. In this session, participants will revisit favorite beach memories while enjoying beautiful coastal scenery and meaningful conversation. They'll reflect on memorable vacations, favorite seaside traditions, and the places that continue to bring a sense of peace and joy. Those memories will then become inspiration for a simple art activity, encouraging creativity while celebrating the beauty and relaxation of the seaside. |

Opening (5–10 minutes)
Display several seashells, beach photographs, or a small basket of beach treasures. Invite participants to imagine the sound of gentle ocean waves and ask them to think about a favorite beach experience or a place they would love to visit someday. |

Let's Talk (15–20 minutes)
What is your favorite beach memory? Did your family have a favorite vacation spot? Have you ever collected seashells or visited a lighthouse? What colors, sounds, or smells remind you of the beach? If you could spend a day anywhere along the coast, where would you go? |

Creative Activity (20–30 minutes)
Invite participants to create artwork inspired by the beach. They may choose to: Draw or paint a favorite beach memory. Create a dream beach destination. Sketch an ocean sunset. Draw a favorite ocean animal such as a sea turtle. Illustrate something they love about the seaside. Consider using the Beach Memories Sketch Journal as a companion activity.
